PROFILE

Robert Gookin's practice focuses on civil litigation. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts, in California and Illinois, in matters including patent and trademark infringement, complex contract disputes, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty actions, and probate litigation.

As a second career attorney with a background in the entertainment industry, Mr. Gookin takes a practical and pragmatic approach to litigation. He understands that legal disputes frequently arise within a commercial context and that the best solutions often require balancing the legal and business interests of the client to obtain a resolution which provides the best possible outcome for his client, while recognizing economic realities.

Mr. Gookin previously practiced in the Los Angeles office of Winston & Strawn, LLP, then moved to a boutique litigation firm on the Westside of Los Angeles, where he was able to gain extensive " hands on" trial and arbitration experience. While in law school, Mr. Gookin was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, was awarded Best Advocate honors at the 2007 Scott Moot Court competition, and served as a law clerk in the District Attorney's Office in Compton, trying cases in juvenile court, and in the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California.
